Special Spotlight On Ireland at the Annecy International Animation Festival & Market 2012
A special "Spotlight on Ireland" featured at the Annecy Animation Festival & Market (MIFA) in France June 4th to 9th. The Annecy Animation Festival & Market is renowned as the world's largest animation event. A large Irish contingent attended along with 7,000+ international industry professionals.
Key highlights of the Irish Spotlight 2012 included
Enterprise Ireland and Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board launch 2012 Irish animation promo and brochure at events organised by the two agencies during the market. These events attended by the Ambassador of Ireland to France, Mr Paul Kavanagh, a special guest of 2012 Annecy Festival & Market.
A tribute to Irish Directors presented by the Screen Directors Guild of Ireland - "Forty Shades of Green"five part programme of Irish animation curated by Steve Woods
Animation Industry Panel 'Ireland Presents... Co-Producing Opportunities' moderated by Christophe Erbes featuring James Hickey (Irish Film Board), Cathal Gaffney (Brown Bag Films), John Rice (Jam Media) and Gary Timpson, (Kavaleer).
Oscar nominated Tomm Moore keynote at Irish networking event
Cartoon Saloon featured with special showcase of "Secret of Kells" artwork in the collection of Animated Film Artifacts at the Castle Museum in Annecy.
