Cartoon Forum participants have voted for the winners of the Cartoon Tributes. RTE (Sheila de Courcy) is Broadcaster of the year, awol animation (Julie Fox) is Investor/Distributor of the year and Monster Animation (Gerard O’Rourke) is Producer of the Year. Irish animation was under the spotlight since RTE and Monster Animation are both Irish companies, and French based awol animation is managed by Irish born Julie Fox.

13th to 16th September - Six Irish projects featured at the 2011 Cartoon Forum – the European co-production forum for TV and new platforms for animation, held in Sopot, Poland.

Irish projects pitched at the Forum included ‘Cathy’s Costume Box’ from Treehouse Republic, with German co-producers The Big B Animation Co.; ‘Cosmo’ from Monster Animation and Design; ‘Jeff the Chief’ from Telegael Media Group with UK co-producers Hoho Entertainment; ‘The Overcoat' from A Man & Ink, with UK co-producers Once Were Farmers and Gurpa Smacznego (GS Animation) from Poland; and ‘Zig & Zag’ from Double Z Enterprizes, with co-producers Fickerpix Animations from the UK.

The Forum showcased 66 new projects for animated series. Over 700 animation producers, broadcasters and investors meet each year at the event which aims to provide an opportunity to set up co-productions and accelerate financial arrangements for new TV projects.
